In 1972, during his military service, Luigi Viprati began carving his first briar pipes. 12 years later he turned his hobby into a professional career. Today Viprati pipes are among the very best in the Italian handmade market - both in design and craftmanship. The excellent reputation is certainly due to Luigi's persistent refusal to produce larger numbers at the expense of individuality and creativity.
